Forty Years ago 1977 - Gil Hearne, won the Modified Championship along with 12 feature wins. 11 Regular Wins and the twelfth one was the fourth edition of Turkey Derby. John Blewett Jr, won the 300 lap Garden State Classic when Hearne (blown engine) met his demise from the event. Supporting Division masters: Chip Graves (Sportsman), Ray Evernham, Jr. (Modern Stock). Balance of Turkey Derby winners; Art Wolcott (Sportsman) and Karl Stoye (Modern Stock). Champions from other tracks: Wayne Anderson (New Egypt Speedway).

Thirty-Five Years ago 1982 - Tony Siscone, had an incredible season at Wall Stadium by winning five times including the Garden State Classic, Budweiser Crown Classic and, his second Modified Championship. Shortly thereafter, a tragic event that fans, crews and, Siscone himself will never forget. On Halloween at Martinsville Speedway, Siscone struck Evernham's #19 near full speed that caused the gas tank to split open and flames billowed furiously. Evernham, suffered second degree burns of the neck and face. Siscone, sustained second degree burns of the neck and face and, third degree burns of the hands. Those drivers were lucky. Wall Supporting divisions champs are: Doug Wolcott (Sporsman) and Bob Ormsbee (Modern Stock). Lenny Boyd won the ninth annual Turkey Derby along with Sal Moschella, Jr. (Sportsman) and Bernie Bailey (Modern Stock). Other Champs from different tracks: Richie Evans (New Egypt Speedway) and John Blewett Jr. (Islip)

Thirty Years ago 1987 - Gil Hearne, won his seventh Modified crown with seven wins. Tom Mauser, won the Garden State Classic. Jerry Cranmer won the Budweiser Crown Classic. Not only Mauser winning the Classic, he repeated his 1986 Turkey Derby victory. Dave Michel (MAD), Ron Hyer (Modern Stock) and, Don Burns (Street Stock) are the supporting division kings. Harold Dauncey (MAD), Scott Davidson (Modern Stock) and, Don Burns (Street Stock) are also Derby winners. Other tracks: Wayne Anderson (Riverhead), Harold Dauncey (New Egypt Speedway)

Twenty Five Years ago 1992 - Eddie Bohn, won his first Modified crown (second overall) over Jerry Cranmer. Cranmer, won the Garden State Classic. Tony Siscone, successfully defended his Budweiser Crown Classic win. John Blewett III captured Rookie of the Year honors. Not only Bohn won the points, he recorded his third Derby overall barely holding off defending winner Tony Siscone. Lenny Boyd, won the Race of Champions at Flemington Speedway in the Harry Reed #55. Sadly, Wall Stadium was his with a terrible blow because, the Modifieds had been dropped from the schedule for 1993 due to a dispute over the purse structure.

Brian Scisco (MAD), Frank Van Arsdale (Street Stock), and Ray Gastelu (Pro Stock) Supporting Wall Champions.
