Wall Stadium Speedway, is hosting practice sessions for the 44th Annual Turkey Derby which will fall on this Saturday from 11am till 4pm. Admission is FOC (Free of Charge). This is the first out of the two sessions before the event on November 24-26.
This week and next indicates that the drivers will be shaking down their machines, for the Derby to make sure that there are no complications to the following: handling, motor, tires, etc.
Nothampton, PA's Matt Hirschman is the defending winner of the two Mod divisions. Hirschman, would be expected to test his machines prior to his voyage to Myrtle Beach, next weekend. Many time winner and recent track champion; Jimmy Blewett would also be expected to shake down his Tour Modified and SK/Wall Modified cars for the Derby to add either Mod to his '17 collection. 2006 winner and former two time track king; Steven Reed will be tagging along in his two Mods and, he surprised the crowd last year for timing first in the Tour Mod Time Trials but, he was forced to watch the race from the sidelines after his transmission broke. Windsor Lock, Ct's Les Hinckley, Jr. would pull a possible upset in this years Derby in the 06 Tour Style Mods. Other drivers would expect to race were; Doug Coby, Ryan Preece, Dave Sapienza, Danny Bohn, among others.
The Derby, will be stuffed with an action packed schedule: SK/Wall Modified, Tour Type Modified, Sportsman, Legend, Factory Stock, Dirt Modified, 4 Cylinder, ATQMRA, Sportsman Dirt, Dirt Outlaw and, Limited Late Model.
