TRIMMER BEATS LEGEND CARS; RAIN BEAT ALL OTHERS AT WALL STADIUM SATURDAY NIGHT
WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~ Quinn Trimmer of Waldwick was impressive in winning his second Legend Cars 25-lap feature race at Wall Stadium Speedway Saturday night before rain won out in five other main events. The rain that finally washed out the event came after all qualifying events, the Legend Cars feature, two laps of the Limited Late Model feature and a track drying session were completed. In fact, the speedway was nearly dry around 9:00 p.m. before a heavy shower ended the evening's efforts.
All five of the rain postponed feature race will be made up during the remainder of the season. The make up schedule will be announced soon.
In that Legend Cars race Tanner Jones was the early leader as Trimmer chipped his way to the front of the pack. Lapped traffic came into play near the halfway mark before Trimmer took advantage of a lap 16 restart, the only restart of the test, to slip into the lead. Jones then chased Trimmer to the finish line with Brick's Brian Gardella, Mason Magee of Northeast, Maryland and Colin Milroy of Southampton wrapping up the top five.
“That race was a lot of fun,” Trimmer said in the winner's circle. “Thanks to my dad for all his hard work. This car is fast! Happy Father's Day!”
The 2021 Saturday night regular season continues this Saturday (June 26) evening with the Modifieds returning for a 40-lap main event while the Sportsman cars and Legend Cars compete in 25-lappers. The Fast 4's will race in two 25-lap main events. Grandstands will open at 4:00 p.m., qualifying starts at 5:00 p.m. and main event action starts at 7:00 p.m.
Current plans call for Saturday night racing action to continue through early October with schedule details at wallspeedwayracing.com.
