I'll take a pair of Carhartt jeans in 32/30. Much appreciated.
Marty, you've been around racing long enough to know the deal. We have mutual friends who can tell you all the ways around this rule. It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that just by buying track fuel you do not prevent or even reduce doctoring of fuel. There are other ways to police the doctored fuel issue and the manner and method in which they have decided to sell track fuel will not prevent doctoring. What they did prevent or discourage is a racer coming from another track to come compete on an off weekend. Now in addition to having to buy tires they also have to buy fuel.
I'd also like to point out that the same people who enacted this rule didn't say one thing about it when they had their open forums with all the racers a few months back. Not a peep about it then, but releases all over the place now.
For the sake of the racers who spend their time and money to put on a show, I wish them luck in their endeavors.
