"Express Times, Stoners and 420"

I had this old letter and Express Times newspaper scan lying in my "Upcoming FB/Twitter/3wide Posts" picture folder for a long time and never posted it. Just for the heck of it and for no real reason other than to clean out some old stuff, I thought I'd post it today. It's my old credential letter from the editor of the Easton Express, for the Pocono NASCAR race in June 1983. Danny Golden and I shot that race for the paper.
The shot on the right was my picture that made the cover of the sports section from that race, showing Tim Richmond leading Bobby Allison and Harry Gant. Those were fun times shooting at Pocono.
Now for the cool part that I just noticed today while looking at the top area of that newspaper scan. You see it mentions the "Stoners." That just caught my eye now and got me thinking. The Stoners were a local pro soccer team. This newspaper was from 1983 and that year my future wife, whom I had yet to meet, worked for Neal Fehnel (aka Balloons the Clown) selling the team merchandise for the Stoners, at the soccer games. Now for the real coincidence today, I saw posts on the net about today's date of 4/20 and that the date was somehow connected to smoking weed. So, I thought that was funny that my newspaper post has the "Stoners" mentioned in it and it's being posted on 420. Ha-ha
