The person who made the greatest impression on my "racing" career was 3 Wides own Rick Shive. We met many years ago and both grew up going to races with our grandmothers. He was a Flemington guy, and I was a Reading guy, but of course racing was the common bond. He was just getting out of being a sprint car owner when we met, but it was the start of something great. We went/go to races as fans and I was/am amazed at what he can remember from years ago. I never got involved in the pits, until Rick got a go cart several years ago and I went to the track to help him. I learned so much from him and he was always willing to have me make mistakes and learn. After he got his second cart, he allowed me to drive the first one. Racing was a dream of mine for as long as I could remember. We won several times, had some crashes, but always enjoy the time at the track. We have traveled to Eldora together and did some memorable camping trips for PA Speedweeks. I hope we have many more years together both in the pits and in the stands.
