i think it would be a good idea to do what they did for the National Open back in the early ‘60’s. Have qualifying races at the mid-Atlantic race tracks for big block, small block, and dirt late models in the Open. Of course the rest of the field would be made up with those who did not win a qualifying race during the year.
Qualifying would be on Saturday with time trials and consies. Sunday would be three one hundred lap feature races.
i think Bridgeport would be a good track to use for this. I say this because of its location And track size. Plus there are plenty of cars in these classes to support a big race like this.
