That might be true. This place is "racey" all of the time. The track does have 3 racing grooves most of the time. I think what hurt Austin was lack of track time in general. He was rolling the bottom really well and not losing anything. Alot of the guys run the top grove all of the time and never move down. We worked on our car so we could run the top and as insurance be able to roll the bottom. Our car is working great in the multi grooves but my man committed to the bottom a lap to late. By the time he got up there he lost his momentum and it was just too late. But he learned something and that is what counts. With 370 cars entered there are only 13 rookie drivers that never been here before. That says something.
Austin will not be on the track again until Saturday so between working his day job at the HMS booth he is watching the race track from there as there is a BIG screen TV near him and when he is not working he is sitting in the stands watching the races and the race track as well.
We will not really know which Qualifer that we are in until early Saturday morning. At this time we are thinking the C main or the E main. It all depends on some drivers "passing points". We will just have to see. But you can take this to the bank. Austin will be on the throttle and trying his darndest to try and advance forward.
Everyone really needs to put this race on their bucket list, if it is not all ready on it. You will never experiance anything like this.
