Just discovered that long time key member of Bob McCreadie's crew ,Tim Hatt ,is a frequent visitor to the board and I would like to introduce you guys to him. He posted a comment a few nites ago regarding the Flemington 200 under the name Hatto.
Hat was one of a small group of very talanted and ultra dedicated guys that helped Bob have so much success in dirt and DIRT modified racing. His skills as a fabricator were instrumental in building some of Bob's most innovative and cool cars as well a being one of the key raceday guys
Although I don't think you could call any one of his guys "crew chief" because Bob was the true ring leader, his inner circle of people like Mike 'the big guy' Hayslet, Hugh Naylor (tire specialist), Hat (fabricator and all around good pair of hands), Scratch (whatever needs to be done ) and one time, Doug Dingwall as well as shop help from the Price bros were in incredible group.
In 1986 I had the privledge of spending the week before Super Dirt Week at the shop and and race week with them. It was something I will never forget and the fact that they won that year was icing on the cake. I used to joke that as a racer, "sleep is optional and food is over rated " but those guys lived that idea. The hard work and dedication those guys put into that deal was awe inspiring. Not much sleep - not much to eat - but a win at Syracuse.
