At one time in the late 80's East Windsor would put parking cones out on the track for starts, virtually no initial starts went an entire lap the first time there.

I was following Woodstock Walt Laudein down the backstretch after a start and he was swerving back and forth across the track, then a cone pops out of the left side. Someone punted the cone onto his cockpit and he tossed it out when the yellow flew before the lap was completed.

I recall a pile up during the same period of time when another cars front tire wedged itself in my right side (for lack of a better description) window, it was still attached to the car, it hit my helmet.
