Short Track Racing Stars Shine At Thursdays 11th Annual Quaker Steak & Lube Dirt Track Heroes Show







The Eleventh Annual Quaker Steak & Lube Dirt Track Heroes Show continued through the fourth day of it's week long journey on Thursday evening after a bump in the road halted the Wednesday night show and forced the organizers to alter the schedule for the show. The small division race tracks came out in force for the racing community and another successful day went into the record books featuring the stars of the Hamlin Speedway, Snydersville Speedway, Oreville Raceway and Mahoning Valley Speedway occupying center stage. To all those hoping to attend the show please make a note of the scheduling changes as every attempt was made to accommodate the show sponsors and the supporting speedways and groups.


Nightly interviews and 141 race cars provides the loyal race fans with a full appetite of racing fun before the regular seasons begins. The Phillipsburg Mall, located on Route 22 East in Phillipsburg, NJ, has proven to be a popular setting for this special event and offers a multitude of race cars, racing memorabilia, collectibles and photos on display throughout the course of the show. The show continues to be FREE of charge to the mall traffic and the 2018 edition of the show is the trend setter and showstopper of the many shows that are scheduled during the year. Hamlin Speedway/S&S Speedway Indoor Go Karts, JPA Masonry, Phillipsburg Easton Honda and Smith Fabrications/Stage One Modifieds sponsored last evening's show and have been loyal supporters of the week long show.


With the eclectic Quaker Steak & Lube Restaurants the lead sponsor of the event, the excitement and the pulse for the week long show quickens with each day as the diverse schedule of the week long show offers a bit of everything to all racing fans. The 55 stores making up Quaker Steak & Lube annually sell more than 80 million wings per year and "The Lube" is recognized as "The best wings in the USA." Emcee Steve Pados opened the show and introduced IRCO Vice President Greg Collins to the large crowd on hand. Collins thanked the local racing community for their support and talked of the various offerings from the IRCO group. Robin DeHart from St John's Angels Charity was on hand to speak about the Relay For Life Team through the American Cancer Society.



Ed and Steve Pados along with Bobby Stull and Alex Greenzweig  interviewed a great panel of driving stars and it proved to be a good mix of veterans and newcomers doing battle this season at their various facilities. Drivers interviewed or at the show from Hamlin included Jacob Balliet, Joey Amantea, Tanner VanDoren, Amanda and Adam Buchel, Alex Reinsmith, Charlene and James Benz, Jasper Zeigafuse, Emily Fleming and Cody Motto, Mahoning Valley Speedway countered with Colten Breiner, Joey Jarowicz and Bobby Stull. Snydersville/Oreville Speedway stars included driver/announcer Alex Greenzweig, Jayson Kraycirik, Eddie Geiger, Craig Sprague, Xavier Sprague, Cody Quagliato, Billy Proctor, Mathew Rodenback, Juston Trevasek and Colten Yetter. Longtime Modified campaigners Richie Yetter and Barry Suydam also made appearances. Matt Balliet from Long Hollow Cattle Company was on hand to talk about his business and the advantages of buying fresh cut meats in bulk form from his company at:   Snydersville/Oreville Promoter Barry Greenzweig was also on hand.


Friday, March 9th, brings two shows to the Mall going back to back with the "Legends of Racing" at 4 PM when Modified legend Bobby Rossell is honored for his great career in racing. Some of   Bobby's competitors will be on hand to talk about fun moments they had when racing with Bobby throughout the years. Friday evening will find current day open wheel stars and Modified drivers being interviewed. Premio Sausages will be on hand for the Saturday show when the Flemington Speedway Historical Society offers up a unique interview and autograph session with the drivers talk about their racing exploits followed by the presentation of the annual "Tas" Awards.
