"Accidental Photobomb"
Nice to see racing legend Kenny Brightbill get honored with a Tas Award tonight and really cool to see his old Pinto modified #19, complete with all the dents and dings in the body from the last time it was raced. Kenny is a great guy and it was really nice to talk with him about his old racing days after the Tas Awards tonight.

*The backstory on this shot: Usually while shooting pictures I look for a clean background. If someone shows up in the background, it's a distraction and ruins the photo. For this low angle shot, I held my camera down by my knees-- since I'm old and that would hurt getting up if I knelt down. Then, I just pressed the shutter button without looking through the viewfinder. For the pics where you blindly shoot without a viewfinder, you just guess where to aim the camera, then press the shutter and move the camera slightly at different angles and hope to get the subject in the frame. Most times it's a failure, so you shoot a few extras. I got really lucky though when I caught a photobomber (on the far right) in this picture of the Brightbill 19. I was only trying to get a picture showing the old door, all beat up from racing. I shot it wide angle and figured that I'd just crop it down to Brightbill's famous #19 door later. The photobomber in this one turned out to be Kenny Brightbill! I had no clue that he was in or near this picture. I only noticed it when I was editing pics after the Dirt Track Heroes Show tonight.
This was a totally accidental shot.
Sometime you get lucky!
