I found the blog that you mentioned. Looks like Mandee thinks the quick frontstretch line up is a good idea. (It's certainly not a new idea, but something that I think will help "set the stage" before the cars take the green for their heat race. It's something all tracks should do "quickly", and if they're not doing it now, hopefully they'll find a way to make it part of their show. The key is that it shouldn't take more than 60 - 90 seconds to do a 10 - 12 car heat line up. Here's the link to Mandee's blog that you mentioned:
Bridgeport never says, "Good Enough...." You have to like that about them... They're always looking at ways to improve their offering. The place is a showplace as far as racetracks go, and while many other tracks in the country have been pulling back on things, Bridgeport continues to push forward.
I've always found the current ownership/management willing to listen to, and to consider ideas provided, and that's a good thing. There's a famous quote out there that says, "We can all use a little coaching because it's hard to see everything when you're playing the game."
With the workload that all staff/management have on race night at Bridgeport (as is the case at almost all short tracks), folks are so busy taking care of whatever the moment calls for, the true experience of the fan in the spectator stands (from beginning of show, till end) is sometims not understood.
I'm not involved with a raceteam... I am not part of track staff... and I pay attention to what's happening, so if I can add a thought along the way that might add something positive to the show, and if management is willing to listen, and consider acting on the idea, then hopefully that's a good thing for all.
I know you're a big time Bridgeport fan Uncle Tom, so I'm kinda preaching to the choir, but for those who haven't been to Bridgeport in a while, consider taking in a show there and check it out for yourself.
