Went to NES last night. Unlike ever before. Good crowd. Lots of competitors. They started the races about 45 minutes late. It felt like a cold front moved in with a chilly wind, and it seemed many fans came dressed for a warm evening. It sounded like the joint military base was super active. Some really good racing despite a little dust- especially liked Mark Bitner's pass off of turn 2 for the lead in a sprint car heat. Many really good rookies. Too much wasted time between races, even had two special delays for a wingless sprint to practice by himself....unbelievable...while the fans that were left sat there with their teeth chattering. By the time the modified feature started, the spectator seats looked like a ghost town. The sprint car feature was postponed. I hope they fix the problems with moving the show along really soon.
