Double yellow line rule enforced.
See what you think... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gr_9os7X8EM
I wonder if it would have been enforced as swiftly, and if it had been a big name cup driver who had made that move....
You gotta love how quick the announcers went from calling it a great move (even though the main guy didn't even know who was in "the white car ," to then defending Nascar's decision to enforce the rule..., to then quickly telling us why it's such a necessary rule. (Don't worry guys, your jobs are safe...)
They even compared it to football, and stepping on the out of bounds line... We'll guys, it' ain't football... it was never supposed to be like football... and that's something always made racing different than all the stick and ball sports, and maybe why folks like you and I prefered racing to other sports... (We have our own rules.)
Maybe they thought with stick and ball rules, they'd get some stick and ball fans... (Cue the crickets.)
Could you imagine back in the day, denying Dale Sr or somebody a win in the Daytona 500, after making a move like that, coming down for the checkered flag, because of a "double yellow line infraction?"
Imagine what the reaction of the fans in attendance would have been to that....
We'll, Nascar doesn't have to worry about that anymore, because to have a "fan reaction" you have to have fans.
