FIVE FEATURE RACES HEADLINE AT WALL STADIUM THIS SATURDAY (SEPT. 15)
WALL TOWNSHIP, N.J. ~ The Pete and Elda's Bar/Carmen's Pizzeria Modified stock cars, Center State Engineering Sportsman cars, the Mike's Performance Center Limited Late Models and the Green Flag Driving Experience Legend Cars will take center stage at Wall Stadium Speedway this Saturday night (Sept. 15) as they compete in five main events on Retro Night. While the All American Auto Group Racing Series action on the track will be modern day, the track will honor days past with classic rock on the public address system and classic food items at the refreshment stands. Grandstand seating will open at 5:00 p.m. and qualifying is set for 5:45 p.m. The evening’s main event action will follow around 7:00 p.m.
On the famous third mile high-banked paved oval defending Modified champion Jimmy Blewett of Howell will lead the way with expected competition coming from Andrew Krause of Holmdel, Steven Reed of Jackson, Derek Hopkinson of Toms River, Shaun Carrig of Little Falls, Jackson's Jason Treat and Chris Reynolds of Howell, just to name a few. With the 2018 regular season title chase entering the final stretch this 40-lap race takes on added importance.
The Legend Cars also have an important race meet on this night with two 25-lap main events planned. Top point racers Nick Van Wickle of Edgewater Park, Peter Bruno of Little Silver and and Brick's Roger Nickerson are expected to see competition and several invading drivers can also be expected for the twin feature races.
A 25-lap main event for the Limited Late Models will see big winner Shanon Mongeau of Manchester in the field, with top runners Joe Mongeau of Brick, Mike Tillett of Bayville, Harry Schaeffer of Cateret and Dom Casola of Holmdel also expected to compete. Top Sportsman drivers Eric Lane and Kevin Davison, both of Howell, and Jackson racers Kyle Scisco, Jarret DiGiantomasso and Carsten DiGiantomasso are expected to see action in the Sportsman 25-lapper.
Saturday’s schedule will see the competitor pit area open at 1:00 p.m. Regular practice will start at 3:00 p.m., while spectator seating will open at 5:00 p.m. Qualifying for the night’s program starts at 5:45 p.m. and main events will follow at 7:00 p.m.
Wall Stadium presents professional motorsports events on Saturday evenings through October 6. Special events are also featured in the fall including the “Spooky Spectacular” on October 20 and the season ending Turkey Derby on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend. These post-season events are presented during the daylight hours.
