I can picture the car vividly, it had a pointed front door that make the sight line cool. It had similar hashed stripes in fading colors from red to yellow-orange as one of his Gremlins that followed. There was the customary Van Iderstine in the curved presentation on the upper quarter with big fat shadows. There was a medium blue number, kind of smallish and it had this little orange chevron thing behind the number to help fill some space on the door.
The body sides had a long sweeping quarter that tucked behind the rear wheel that led you to believe it was a Pinto but the upper rear post was narrow like a Chevette. Lends a lot of credibility to your speculation that it was probably some hybrid body made by hand but the back Pinto like feature kind of reminded me of one of the McCabe 23's that Fitzcharles drove.
I searched for so long tonight on the internet trying to find a photo and damn if it is like the car didn't exist. Someone will turn up with a photo. Nagged at me all day today at work.
