In late 60s, my Mom and I watched the modifieds race in the infield from the top of Stubby Stevens 10 wheel dump truck with 2X10s across the dump body.  We knew Stubby through Irv Emery, Irv had a auto repair shop in New Egypt. Gil Hearne worked for Irv for awhile and lived next to Stubby in Jacobstown.  Frank Myronchuk, he owned New Egypt Speedway for awhile and alweays had sharp looking asphalt modifieds, lived next to Stubby.  Jackie bought his first hot rod from Stubby (blue and white S-1) and didn't change a thing on the car.  Hence, all future hots rods of jackies were blue and white #S-1. I always felt lucky growing up in Jacobstown/ New Egypt area, a hot bed for racers!  Back to Langhorne, being about 10 feet up in air, I believe Stubby's dump truck were the best "seats" in the house.  Scott Ely
