My Father and I and sometimes Mom would be in the infield about halfway down the dragstrip on the left side on higher ground if it could be found..we stood on top of Pop's Ford panel truck with racks that had a couple boards bolted down..Years were about 1962/63 to the last asphalt race..I remember Mike Grbac drag racing a few people with a borrowed car..I think he beat them all..I ran all over the infield with a mini-bike...Loads of fun..Some car's that come to mind are Tas #39, 707 Gypsy, Cagle 24, The Trechlers, Sam Beavers in the XL1, Dutch Hoag, #54 Gerhardt, #2 Schneider, Gene Guy Chartrand with the Hemi, #4 Lou Lazzaro and his guard dog, And the car that won most of them #11 Ray Hendrick..Thanks for all the Langhorne pics and stories..Brings back alot of fun memories....Howie.
