Joey "The Joker" Logano drives his way to Miami through the rear bumper of the #78.
Truex runs him clean, side by side for the last 10 laps... Could have taken the #22 out multiple times... Continued to race him clean... Made the clean pass on Logano on the last lap... Logano runs it hard into turn 3, and solidly pushes Truex up the track, and goes on to take the win.
Curious that Logano didn't stop on the frontstretch and grab the checkered flag as has become the norm for cup winners. Looked like he stopped on the backstretch maybe? Not sure why, but I'm thinking that it would have been pretty hostile over by where the remaining crowd was booing. Think there's quite a few more Truex fans out there than Logano fans, and there's probably even less Logano fans after today's event.
Truex ends up 3rd, and all Logano can say is, "I'm on my way to Miami!"
They say that rivalries are good for the sport.
In the post race, Junior said, "I tell Martin that he's too nice..."
I always liked the rule that you race others the way they race you. Based on that, I think it was a pretty chicken shi+ move on Logano's part, but I'm not a racer, and maybe that no longer holds true for some.
I don't know if Truex can win the championship, but I know that he can make it difficult for Logano to win.
