  This picture was taken in 1977 the first year that  Gerald and Gus Frear  started there C & F racing team  Geralds car owner Joe Bullock  retired  at the end of 1976 afterGerald one the Eastern states 200 . Thay  did away with the  pipe rear bumper and went with an aluminum bumper and changed from a single rub rail to the one that you see in the picture. Later on that  year he had a bad accident on the back straightaway  at Flemington and came back with a carbureted car. Flemington paid $50  bonus for the first modified across the  checkered flag  with a carburetor  Gerald finished second to  Kenny Brightbill in 1978  for the  Flemington championship. He was first in points in 74 and in 75 He finished second to Glenn Fitzcharles Gerald won the championship. in 76  it was his last  modified championship . Gerald won  I think three races in 77 after his accident also one in Glenn Fitzcharles  backup 23 gremin . I don’t know how I remember all that but I was a young kid maybe 17 or 18  and Youremember a lot when you are a FORD FAN!!!!!
