i've been watching and seeing the lack of people in the stands at NASCAR races. It's not the ticket cost since ALL tracks offer great deals....I paid over $1000 to see Daytona trucks, cup and busch in 2008,,,heck you can see the trucks at Pocono for $20..  I don't think it is the racing even with all the changes that have been made. NASCAR did this to try getting that age group watching races,,,it's like FANTASY football that keeps that age group into the NFL.. I think GM,Ford,Toyota all have contributed to this demise. the hood of your car, can you REALLY find the spark plugs, dipstick or air cleaner? We could set timing, adjust valves, gap plugs, and .I bet that is no longer possible .. AND kids in the 18-30 age don't know that either, heck they can't even pump gas in NJ! I did tune ups,oil changes suspension reworks because i could, now this age group has no interest in racing BECAUSE they don't know or care about how their car works. They have no interest in how to work on their own cars. Go to a car show...see anyone under 50 showing their ride? No because it's not a lack of money,we did it when we were that age,it's because their is no interest in doing so.....let the debate start....BTW I first went to sprint car races in 1966 at The Allentown I'm old school of 63 years.
