Having a good run here at the shootout. Warmups, and the two qualifier heats are over. B-Main in the early afternoon and A-Main Feature late tonight.
The Tulsa Expo raceway is incredible as expected... our first time here. They do an amazing job with the track and running of the ~1200 cars in succession.
We have two cars in competition. Korey started 6th in his first heat and won, and after taking a conservative 3rd in the second heat he has accumulated the most passing points and has the pole for the A-Main tonight.
Keith has struggled with an ill handling car all even. In his first heat someone spun and he suffered damage when he could not miss them. In the second heat he lost the car and was told while rejoining to hold for the field, then he was told to hurry up and join them instead and didn't get caught back up so he finished out back. We'll see what the B-Main will give him.
Nervous about our chances but we've gone over the car fully for Korey and think given what we have seen that he should have a good chance at a solid top five and it is not out of the question to think he has a shot but the track prep has been a little hard to keep up with for us so we're just taking whatever we get.
There has been a lot of interest in the XCEL mods we're racing so it seems like we'll stand a good chance to get invited back next year.
I'm posting from the pits with no way to embed so hopefully you'll forgive no watermark. They are my images and we'll post something later on to let everyone know how we made out.
They are broadcasting the race on MyRACE Pass for timing and Racin' Boys are doing the live streaming. It is also being shown on MAVTV and they came over and interviewed Korey prior to tonights race.
