They raced at a short track on Sunday and had over 100,000 unsold tickets.  Track management knew beforehand it was going to be ugly since they didnt even sell tickets in the corners.   The stars are retiring younger these days because they were fortunate enough to have raced in the gravy days and have 10's of millions of dollars in the bank and dont need to race until theyre in their 50s now.  Also when its contract time they know they wont be getting the same pay because the team owners can insert some unknown 20 year old in the car for a fraction of the cost.   So you wind up with some unknown kid with almost no followers replacing a driver with star power who takes his 10's of thousands of fans with him when he retires.   Not many people are coming out to the races because William Byron Daniel Suarez or Eric Jones are racing
