Lots of great race car drivers raced by this old Nazareth Speedway grandstand, while on their way to a victory at the old half-mile track. Most notably, 60 years ago, some kid named Mario Andretti, won his first race in America, in front of this grandstand in 1959.
(I purchased this Paul Stull negative a few years ago, that shows the old Nazareth grandstand. Stull shot this picture on July 21, 1952, after the fairgrounds received some minor wind damage (wires down/roof damage) from an earlier storm. This grandstand was later torn down, after a new steel grandstand was built on the opposite side of the speedway in 1966.)
