At a minimum, they are being consistent. We sat through a lightning delay last year at the Darlington Cup race so it is not a new policy for them.
I went to the July race in 2004 and a storm came in. We were in the vendor area, at the Kasey Kahne trailer, and a guy down the row from us was struck by lightning. There was no lightning policy back then.
It was a miserable night, and we left the race early because my young son had a meltdown and wanted to leave and we were wet and cold after the rain soaked us.
I listened to the race on MRN all the way back to Homosassa.
They are my photos, I am the photographer...
