I couldn’t believe that his name is pronounced ba-loo. Always thought it was Bay-low. Another thing was he was a Florida guy that only raced up north for what, 10 years? And he owned the tracks he raced on.

Being rated as a cross between Dale Sr and Tim Richmond is pretty lofty. Makes me wish I would have even known who he was before this. Being raised in the south, we just didn’t hear about guys that raced up north much.
