The UPS guy dropped off the long box, I was happy. A few days prior I had seen this neat shade umbrella on eBAY. When I first saw it I thought wow I could mount it on the truck and it would be like a shade making awning for those long weekends at the track.
So I dragged the box into the house and opened it. There packed in all it's white styrofoam and plastic material were several long metal arms, connected via pivot points, and an odd crank handle.. I gotta figure this out......
So I get the floor stand together and turn the crank to witness this flowering contraption opening for the first time. Crank, crank, crank, kerpow... clank , clank, clank.
My flowering mechanical marvel of shade had caught the spinning blades of the ceiling fan. One fan blade broke off, the now out of balance fan is wobbling and flopping around, shedding parts and pieces as it spins. I try to take shelter under the nylon fabric but stumble over the severed fan blade. Me and the sliced & diced umbrella tumble to the floor.
And that is why the toter doesn't have an awning. The End
