Ed - I believe it was around 10:45 PM when this picture was taken.  The race itself was a typical SDS race track surface, made hard and slick.  There was talk that officials wouldn't allow Toby to do any work on surface during the evening.  A slight scarfing of the inside groove was done before the feature along with a light spraying of water from the truck.  Track was relatively smooth, though there was a noticable rut coming out fo turn 2.

There were tire issues, several flat RR's during the race, but somehow Stewart made his last the full 100 laps.  Yes there were several laps under caution because SDS rules count cautions up to lap 75.  But the TIRE issue was no where the issue as it was at the first Doug Hoffman Memorial Race when everyone blew one during the race and that was only I believe 44 (may have been 60) laps.

The DIRTcar supporters of the SDS were out in FULL FORCE, and I believe that 19 of the 24 qualified cars were SDS supporters.  The one's not were Godown (though he was last year) - Neal Williams - Pauch Jr. - Laubach - and Krachun.  In addition SDS supporters Chad Phelps and Marcus DInkins were added as provisionals as were track provisionals given to Brandon Grosso and RYan Watt.

I think alot of the tire issues were that it was a new track to them and the first time Hoosiers were on the cars on the reconfigured layout.  The racing was very good none-the-less as Wight-Pauch Jr-SHeppard-and Decker all gave a run at Stewie, and the finish was very close with a hard charging Decker just missing at the line.  Overall I give the race last night a SOLID 8 !!!!!
