But To keep Cup in Southern California they felt this had to be done And I am willing to bet most of it can be paid for by selling off the excess land. The truth is another hour or so from Irwindale there is a really nice facility at Kern County Raceway that has a dirt track too and was originally built as a replacement for Mesa Marin. Also, Orange Show Speedway - a true bullring - is just down the road From Fontana.This might provide an opportunity for the local racers on a limited basis, or bring in some other regional/national touring late models.
If they can attract the same size crowds at the half mile that they do at the 2-mile, it will be packed.
