Back in 1971 I was at the Peach Bowl Speedway in Atlanta, Ga. for a NASCAR late model sportsmen race.  It was a mid week race and they only had 6 cars show up.  I could not complain because the six were Bobby Allison, Donny Allison, Runt Harris, Dick Trickle, I think Harry Gant and RED FARMER.  It was a 100 lapper and for about 80 laps they ran two abreast, side by side and put on "a show" for the very sparse crowd.  The last 20 laps they left it all hang out.  I don't really remember who won but I could always say I saw those guys run.  The Peach Bowl was a flat paved 1/5 mile track in downtown Atlanta!  I return to the Peach Bowl after I got out of the service in 1973, the track was nothing more than a big vacant lot.  Their claim to fame was some of the best figure 8 races I have ever saw, alphalt turns and a dirt X in the middle and of course some NASCAR legends including Red Farmer.
