I've read where this has happened a few times (Eldora) but last night I witnessed it for the first time.
As the crate late models were roaring down the backstretch on lap 2 at Senoia Ga. last night, it suddenly started to pour in turn 3. The top five all slammed into the fence while the rest of field, unable to stop spun, slid and crashed into them.
Then, just a quickly, it began pouring on us in the grandstands too. Everyone was soaked by the time they made it to their cars. I don't know how they were going to tow the wrecked car; I heard the announcer say some cars were sliding down the track.
The track is honoring arm bands and the rest of the show will be run next Saturday.
