The cover story in "Old Cars Weekly" October 22 edition is about a '37 Ford modified that David Pearson raced at Greeenville-Pickens Speedway. It was built for 2003 from the remains of a '37 Ford humpback that was converted into a flatback and raced by David until 2008. The car is powered by a built flathead Ford, uses a modern racing radiator, the typical Ford Front end but with coil-over shocks. I looked on line and could find no mention of a class for flathead modifieds at Greenville-Pickens during the 2000's. Can anyone that lives in the South shed any light on this? Was this raced with a vintage modified group?
Interestingly, there is a photo of David in victory lane with the car at Harris Motor Speedway in 2004 and he doesn't have a firesuit on.
