I seem to recall NES at one time allowing Bridgeport cars to use Brideport tires if the Port rained out and NES didn't. Maybe it's still that way. I dont know.
Also I dont know how it is up north but if you race in a class with Crate motors down here you can get a crate motor and race or you can spend a little more and get a crate motor that's "a little more equal" and win.
