I got hooked on racing for many of the same reasons that everyone did. But as a kid the cool names and nick-names, real or made up added to the atmosphere. Zorro, Two-Gun, Red Coffin, the Mayor of Upper Black Eddy ("is he really the mayor, Pop?") and so on. Very cool time. If our home-boy Fuzzy Van Horn was not running, I would pull for the guy with the cool name.
