With NASCAR at Texas this weekend, ( which I am currently watching on NBC)it josseled a memory. Did the mile and a half have a dirt race before it was paved? I seem to recall an Enduro and or a Street Stock type race on the banked 1 1/2 mile track on the packed down dirt. Possibly AJ Foyt competed in it. This was before they built the 4/10 clay track at the facility. Anybody remember?
