ARRA Captures Even the Smallest Details of Al Tasnady’s Career – ARRA Hits 320 Subjects Documented

Ringoes,NJ – Auto Racing Research Associates – ARRA, continue to set  rapid pace in the number of files added to their burgeoning statistics reference website!  Veteran historian Bill Skinner, one of ARRA’s founding members focuses his research on the drivers of yesteryear and no one does it with more passion!

Now, Bill just submitted two more files on none other than the legendary Al Tasnady.  Through the efforts of dedicated researcher/historian, “Al Tas” as he was affectionately known, has pretty much had his career researched down to a finite level!

“I know that Al Tasnady was one of Bill’s favorite drivers back in the day.” ARRA President Fred Voorhees admitted.  “But darn it…Bill surprises me to this day about how dedicated he is to ferreting out even the most intricate details.  Of course, he has not turned over every rock on Al’s career, but you will find no other research so detailed on this legendary driver from the history of our sport!  I am really happy to see this research continuing as Al was also my very first favorite driver back when he drove the Piscopo “Polecat” #39, so I have a special affinity to this research.”

Skinner’s submission joins recent additions to the website including research on Roger Laureno, Bobby Bottcher, Glenn Fitzcharles, Mat Williamson, Jan Opperman, Steve Kinser, Jeff Heotzler, Jon McKennedy….pages on tracks such as Shangri-La, Hinchcliffe Stadium, Onteora, a file on the long ago dirt track late model series NDRA or National Dirt Racing Association, a page detailing the short lived midget racing series held in the Kingsbridge Armory in the Bronx, NY back in the late 40’s….a new section that features video “looks back” at a multitude of long gone and decaying racing facilities that at one time thrilled its weekly fans.   In total…the number of subjects now residing on the ARRA website that have been researched and documented totals right up near 320 and always growing!  “It boggles my mind!” closed out Voorhees.

Fans wishing to view the new Al Tasnady files can find them at : https://sites.google.com/site/arracarsdriversevents/home/al-tasnady

The two new files document his early career with graphs to show just exactly where he competed every night of the season.  They are linked on the page as “Where Did He Race” and “Al Tasnady’s Early Career Race Results 1949 – 1959”.

Auto Racing Research Associates is a group of almost thirty auto racing historians across the country banded together for the purpose of the research, documentation and displaying of auto racing history such as driver win statistics, as well as track, racing series and organizations histories and also the background of racing personalities, particular cars from the past and various other interesting facts of racing history that should not be forgotten.  ARRA continues to build a network of associated auto racing related websites to unite for better chances of furthering the understanding of the past of our sport.  ARRA offers looking up services for those looking for one particular piece of information from the past.  They are the official statistics information source of the Flemington Speedway Historical Society and have been doing much of the research work for a number of years for the Northeast Dirt Modified Museum and Hall of Fame in Weedsport, NY.    We encourage you to visit our new website if you have not had the pleasure yet.
