IndyCars?_______________

I enjoyed what I saw this weekend.

Indycars at St Petersburg - Penske's rookie driver from last year had himself quite a weekend.  Nice crowd.  Palou made it very interesting at the end.  I know it's not popular to question it, but I'm not sure where the Jimmie Johnson Indy Car experiment would be if it wasn't for strong backing from Carvana/others.

XFinity at Fontana:  Enjoyed the race, but big thanks to the DVR as it was a marathon deal, but I was able to fast forward through a lot of the down time.

Cup at Fontana:  Qualifying was pretty interesting as some of the heavy hitters spun trying to figure things out.  Good to see that they were taking it to the edge.  I enjoyed the race.  Very good crowd which I think is a statement that folks are actually interested in the sport, and are supporting the sport/venue, (maybe even a better barometer than the crowd that attended two most recent "events", The Clash, or The Daytona 500.)  They did mention that plans to re-develop Fontana to a smaller track are on hold now.  Not sure what that means for the future of the facility as far as racing goes, but a good crowd has to be a positive.

Thought the race was interesting.  No real domination by anybody once Tyler Reddick got a flat and was then was side swiped by Byron.  Speaking of flats, pretty ridiculous that they when a guy gets 2 flats and hits nothing... that the car then has to be taken to pit lane on a wrecker.  The whole time, pit lane has to be closed to the rest of the field as I'm sure they don't want a track wrecker crew unhooking a car on pit lane while it's open/active.

One good thing about the cars becoming undriveable once they get 2 flats is that maybe it has put an end to the stupid "burn it down" burn outs that I have to think a majority of fans don't really like to see.

Still having some wheel lug issues.  At least none came off this week while at speed.

Good to see Larson win.

Would have liked to have seen more than just the 1st and 4th place finishers interviewed after the race, but there is a lot going on in the world, so I understand why the fast cut away by Fox.
