my original post was sort of tongue in cheek.

A little history. Years ago there were suspected anonymous phone calls to crew chiefs informing them that NASCAR would not be checking certain items on their car for the next race. It was referred to as “getting the call”

And then there are the suspicious coincidences. In 1971 there were very few Chevrolets being raced in Cup. And those were raced by under funded teams. Richard Howard, Charlotte Speedway general manager, commissioned Junior Johnson to build. a Chevrolet for the 600. They put Charlie Glotzbach in the  Car. He had only raced occasionally in NASCAR the previous ten years. Howard promoted the hell out of this deal Low and behold who wins the pole non other then Chargin’ Charlie. Years later Lowe’s buys the naming rights to CMS. Who immediately wins the 600? Non other then the Lowe’s number 48. Danica races in ten races for Tom Baldwin Jr. before becoming the most hyped driver in the history of the sport when she goes with Stewart-Haas Racing. Whamo she wins the only pole in her NASCAR career and in the biggest race of the year. Wow. Now we get to Jeffrey. The promotion begins. The black no. 3 will make its return to NASCAR with an Earnhardt at the wheel. Hmmm! And to quote Gomer “Shazam, surprise, surprise, surprise” Jeffrey is on the pole And darn near wins the race. Look up Jeffrey’s record. Not that impressive. Average start 26!  Makes us doubting Thomas’ wonder sometimes. And it’s fun to speculate. Stir the pot a little.
