Wall Wednesdays...Jim Hoffman  

Jim Hoffman, one of Wall Stadiums best, passed away a few weeks ago.  Jim is 7th on the Wall Stadium all time modified winners list with 44. His first win was on May 18, 1963 and his last was July 12 1980.  He was the 1966 Modified Champion.  Jim won the 1973 Garden State Classic 300.

Jim was one of the nicest guys you could meet. I was fortunate in 1989 to have his former crew chief, Bobby Thomas, as my crew chief, so we heard a lot of Jim Hoffman stories, which was really cool. One night, Jim was at the track, so he suited up and took my car out in practice, for his last ride at Wall. Felt bad because just before he went out, someone oiled down the track. Gil also went out and ran with Jim, a real neat deal.

Rest in peace my friend, I'm sure Bobby is telling you many stories up there!
