Mike Mahaney's #35 nosepiece

Are there any 3Widers that noticed the nose piece on Mahaney's #35 a patriotic red, white and blue #1 with "Pauch" underneath the "1". I'm guessing this sheet metal is from one of Pauch Sr's hot rods, or the entire car was a former Pauch 1 with Mahaney's colors and "35" but they did not repaint the nose piece. Maybe a tribute to Mike's father in law. Scott Ely
