Thoughts on Grandview   

Having been a racing fan for over 50 years now I am used to tracks shutting down. It happens. And very few people would turn down the ridiculous sums of money being offered for land that isnt very profitable these days.

That being said learning about the forthcoming demise of Grandview was a gut punch for me. Totally unexpected and I found myself mildly depressed on Monday evening after I read the news. I assumed it would be around for a long time and while I haven't been there in years it still sucks knowing it is going away.

I hold no animosity to the family. Running a short track is volunteering to be a punching bag these days.

My parents are gone now but I wish they had that kind of money available for their Golden Years.
