ARRA Adds the Legendary Dave Lape to Their Roster of Researched Drivers!!
Ringoes,NJ – ARRA, Auto Racing Research Associates, are proud to announce the addition of another Northeast Modified racing legend to its pages of the highly popular website that provides documented statistics on drivers, racing series’ and organizations and track histories. The popular New York based driver Dave Lape, famous for his driving exploits beginning way back in the 60’s, was a fan favorite! Having won over 190 feature events at 14 different tracks across the Northeast, he was still a weekly fixture at the Fonda Speedway, where he garnered his highest amount of single track wins. Dave could always be found at the tracks Hall of Fame and Museum, where he was always willing to share a good story and a smile and photograph with anyone who asked. Lape, died just recently at the age of 75.
“ARRA is justifiably honored to add Dave Lape to our list of legendary drivers!” ARRA President Fred Voorhees said excitedly from his Ringoes ARRA home office. “Dave was a driver who didn’t need any introduction to Northeast Modified racing fans. Winning a total of 191 feature events across a total of 14 different tracks, he was one of the few drivers who saw the sports infancy in the Northeast and saw it through to the present day. Dave won his first feature race at the Fonda Speedway in 1969 and took the checkers for the last time…again at Fonda..his signature home track, in 2004.”

Coville, Bobby Varin, Pat Ward, Rocky Warner, Stewart Friesen and Tim Fuller joining Dave Lape as documented drivers on our ARRA website..I would say we have a pretty good handle on the Fonda Speedway history!
