Where you headed, or what do you plan on watching?

I need to check the weather and see who's racing locally...  If that doesn't work out, it'll be another weekend of finding stuff on FLO to watch to get my weekly racing box checked.

Speaking of that, and not to get to far in the weeds, this past weekend was the first time in forever that I didn't watch the complete 3 NASCAR series (Cup, xFinity & Truck.)  Not a fan of COTA, and even less of a fan of NASCAR continuing to rely on driver's taking each other out... causing "the big one"... or at least causing "overtime" that NASCAR/the announcers now depend on... yet nobody ever gets penalized for it.

Did anyone see Hemeroidick take out Parker Klingerman the week before (at Atlanta?) coming down to the finish of the xFinity race?  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x87cB-lG_W4

My unprofessional analysis is that the #11 made a right turn into Klingerman's #48, and then made like a snow plow and floored it to continue to push him out of the way.  When interviewed after the race, Daniel had nothing but smiles and self congratulations for the team... and on how they needed a great finish... but nothing about how he just took out a guy that had a shot at the win, and wrecked about 6 other cars in the process.  That dudes career went straight up a few years ago, and for the past few years looks like he's in full on desperation mode now.  Hard to blame him though when NASCAR just smiles and looks the other way when guys take each other out.

And when you think about it, what NASCAR is doing is working to a point.  I mean here I am talking about something that happened two weeks ago, so that's a good thing for NASCAR, right?

But here's where it stops working...  When folks decide that there are much more legitimate racing series out there, where mirror/spotter driving and intentional take outs are not rewarded with wins...   After a few weekends of stepping away, it'll be pretty easy for folks to no longer make watching Nascar's 3 series each weekend and instead, will find something else to do... or to watch.

Me personally, I'm not giving up on being a fan of racing...  I'm just giving up on being a fan of NASCAR racing, and that is something that should send chills through their corporate offices because I think it's going to be contagious.  I go out of my way now to watch Lucas Late Models... or USAC Wingless Sprints... or Midgets on Flo, and also watch Indycar on Peacock.  I'm not alone, and I think there will be others moving in that direction as the 2023 racing seasons rolls on.

Nascar, with it's relying on take outs and wrecks, is quickly falling out of my weekly rotation, and like a lot of things in life, once it's out, it's out.
