Where:  New Egypt (Modifieds, 305' Sprints, Crates, 4 Cylinders, Factory Stocks)

How did you attend?:  Specatator stands - $27

What you liked:  Great racing, biggest crowd in years for a Saturday night show.  Great atmosphere.  The place definitely has the Grosso touch as the grounds/other are neat and well presented.  Track surface very good.  Lots of side by side racing in all divisions.  Lots of surprise finishes.  Announcer provided information during yellow flag/in between events which kept fans engaged in the program.  Intermission (including the porkroll and bicycle giveaway) was very well received by fans.  Fan friendly order of features with the Factory Stock and 4 Cylinder Features completed before intermission, the Modified feature up first right after intermission, followed by the 305 Sprint feature, with the Crate feature being the final of the night.

What you'd like to see improved?  Figure out a way for victory lane cermonies to be enjoyed by more than those standing on the track that unfortunately block the view of the paying spectators.

Consider bringing the driver out closer to the flagstand for the interview and have the folks on the track stand behind him...  The victory lane interview should be exciting, and is a great opportunity for a driver to bond with fans, but the excitement of the moment is not being maximized for most fans now because it is difficult to see the winner when blocked by those standing on the track

Once the interview is over, the driver can then return to the car and the photographers can start snapping away then.

Other:  Consider lowering the mic volume during intermission.  I want to hear what is going on, but I think the volume is set at the same high level as when there are cars on the track which means you end up having to yell at that person sitting next to you just to have a conversation.  Intermission is a good time to talk to those around you, but not when you're competing against the PA at max volume.

Are you going back sometime in the next month?  Yes.  If New Egypt had fallen out of your Saturday night race places to go, it's time to put it back in the rotation!
