August first 1976, Richard Petty won the Puralator 500 at Pocono in car#43. Later that night at Nazareth Jimmy Horton won a heat race in car #43. The modified feature was won by Tom Hager in car#43. The sportsman feature was won by Bob Shellenberger who won the first of his career in car#43.
