Oldsmobile had a 260 cu in V8 engine in the late 70's - early 80's. I know because I had one in my 81 Cutlass. Got almost 300,000 miles out of it. It quit in the parking lot at Bridgeport one Sat night after the races. My friend Scotty gave me a ride home. I advised Geoge Wingate if I could leave it there and that I would arrange to get it towed and that it would prob just need a timing chain (which I replaced at 150,000 when it died on me in a very similar manner). He said that would be fine. The next Sat I returned and I gave him the bill of sale. He had it repaired and turned it into a run in car for the track! All of my friends could not believe that it ended up as a run in car.
