...well, maybe just a little, but I just got done watching The Busch Clash from LA (I had DVR'd it last night), and all I can say is that I still feel like I'm waiting for... for... "something that just never quite happened." I think my interest, excitement and expectation of watching a racing event has been raised so high from watching events on Flo, that I easily could have fast forwarded through the whole Busch Clash broadcast and felt like I had not missed a thing. (As it was, I fast forwarded through a lot of it, but I kept stopping at various places, hoping to stumble on something of interest.... It didn't happen.) NASCAR is so used to being the lead dog, they have to be in deep self diagnosis mode to try to figure out how they can attempt to hold that position, now that the racing community is no longer held hostage as we had been for years, having to take what they were offering if you wanted to watch racing on TV. I can't even begin to compare "THE CLASH" on Fox (Fox Sports1) to a Flo broadcast of USAC Midgets or Wingless Sprints.... Or the Lucas Late Models, and/or other series shown on Flo The "racing" product Fox is offering (the level of competition, the announcers, the "vibe")..., it's like the difference between Rock and Roll, and any other type of music.... It may be all fall into the category or "racing", or using the analagy, it may all fall into the catagory of "Music" so we tune in because we like music... and we thiink we're gonna get Rock and Roll.... but what I heard/saw wasn't "Rock and Roll!" I don't even know what it was.... I guess to some it still qualifies as "racing".... but even that's a stretch. I'll DVR/fast forward cup races this year until I finally get rid of cable, but I will watch with the lower expectations than ever, and my goal this year is to stop being so surprised by what a poor product it has become.
