In my travels today....  

In my travels for work today I drove by the iconic Greenville Pickens Speedway. Sadly the track turned its last laps in 2022. The property has been sold and plans are to have 8 warehouses built on the property. Some plans show the speedway to be used as a retention pond area for water but not sure whether that will happen or not. Former drivers and fans tried valiantly to keep it alive with hopes of running races last year in 2023 but were unsuccessful in making that happen. Unfortunately it looks like another great track has gone by the wayside. I was never fortunate enough to see a race there but was lucky enough to go there and test many years ago when I worked on a NASCAR truck team.
