Charter anti trust   

The nascar teams have hired a big guns anti trust law firm to advise them on the negotiations with the suits in daytona . If you listen to Jeff Gordon on Dale jr show he said something very interesting.

Dale asked what leverage the teams have in this negotiation. Well he danced around the question but did say something very interesting if you read between the lines. He said the current charters the teams have have run out at the end of last year. He stated that under the charter a team had to make every race , it was a key obligation for the teams to keep the charter. He then said with a sly smile that the teams no longer have that obligation and would not go any further.

I have heard some rumbling of a possible on track protest awhile back but nothing of late.

I know a lot of you guys could give a damn about NASCAR but every series has a owner and who knows how this goes may effect the sport in the future.
